WHY’D YOU HAVE TO GO?
Another sun is setting.
It's dark and I'm alone.
I wander from room to room
In this place we once called home.
Hey, I know I'll never know,
But why, why'd you have to go?
The moon is rising
But it's lost among the clouds.
The streetlights shine weakly
And threaten to go out.
I watch through the window waiting for a sign,
But there's no answer to my prayer that you'll come home tonight.
Won't you see me tonight?
Why'd you go away?
I'm afraid to say, honestly,
It was because of me.
Won't you see me tonight?
Why'd you go away?
Won't you come home? I'm so alone.
I need your company.
Here's where we made love on the floor.
Here's where we'd spoon 'til dawn.
Here's where we'd cook and eat our dinner.
Here's where we stretched on the lawn.
Now I just stare at my food and I drink 'til morning comes.
I miss you baby. I miss myself. I've never been good alone.
