WALKIN’ BLUES
Walkin' in the pleasant sun,
A sweaty jacket hangin' over your arm.
You drag your feet your eyes are glued to mine,
As I try to make the best and sweat in time.
But I stop having all my fun,
When I see you're about, about to run.
Yes, you're becoming quite undone,
As you try to beat the heat of the sun.
Do-do-n-da-do-do Shava-la-n-da-da Do-do-do-do
Walkin' in the gentle rain,
My back is cooled by the spreading stain.
As endless clouds roll down o'er me,
I roll along with 'em. My joy is I'm free.
But what hurts me is your pain,
As you stand alone, alone in the rain,
A newspaper pasted to your face,
As you try to remain unchanged.
Do-do-n-da-do-do Shava-la-n-da-da Do-do-do-do
And when it goes to hell in a hand basket,
Take my hand. We won't let it.
Together we'll both forget it.
Jump in the pool! You won't regret it!
Walkin' in the cool breeze,
You tighten your collar. The wind blows through the trees.
I let the wind blow me where it will,
'Cause when I try fight it blows harder still.
When I stand tall it brings me to my knees,
And when I lie down it never hears my screams,
But when I walk with it, it's a summer breeze,
So I try to let it take me where there's more to see.
Do-do-n-da-do-do Shava-la-n-da-da Do-do-do-do
Caught between the Devil and the deep blue sea,
Take my hand, I'll show you what I've seen.
We'll let the rain and the sun and the breeze,
Be the path that leads us closer to free.
